Hello wildlife warriors,
I spent the last week in Arizona to speak at Mutual of Omaha events for the staff and clients in both Phoenix and Scottsdale. This is one of my favorite parts of my gig: speaking live to Wild Kingdom fans! Not a lot of people know this, but when I do live shows with live animals, we partner with local animal rescues, sanctuaries or zoos by presenting their animal ambassadors to the audiences. I am lucky to work with such passionate and darn right goofy animal nerds that love sharing a fun, educational and entertaining conservation message.
This go around, we worked with Wild Things, Inc. Gabe, the owner, brought a lemur, alligator, red-tailed boa, kinkajou, tarantula and juvenile gray kangaroo! They were each rescued either because of an injury, confiscated pet or the mother was killed. Thankfully, places like this exist all over the US to give these animals a second chance.
I always have a blast working with Gabe. He went to school at Moorpark College in Southern California and has ran hi own rescue since like 300 BC (JK 1988). He is extremely experienced and puts on a good show. Nothing is more fun than a live performance with someone who is just as goofy, if not more than me! It’s like we have done shows together forever!
I wanted to mention that every Mutual of Omaha staff I meet out on the road, rock in the hospitality department. They really are good peeps who always make me feel apart of the family. One of the Mutual of Omaha staff even gave me a cool present to remind me of Phoenix. By the way, I did not know how beautiful Phoenix and Scottsdale cities are! Good job on the sustainable landscaping!
Until next time, Tally Ho!
